| One
or two people in our neighbouring parish of Coney Weston were busy in
2000 making a village sign, and they wanted more people to know about
it. The casting was made by Hadleigh Castings and the photograph
below is the first to show the sign after it was painted. The reverse
side had still to be completed when this picture was taken
(13/8/00).
The picture shows Robert Clarke, who in the mid 19th century, started to make "Penny whistles" similar to those which are still sold today as Clarkes Penny Whistles. In the background of the picture are three of the aircraft which flew from the village during the second world war. The sign has now been erected on the Three Ways Crossroads.
